Reproducing the law
This site reproduces text from Acts and other legislative material published by the Federal Board of Revenue. That reproduction relies on section 57 of the Copyright Ordinance 1962, which provides that certain acts, including the reproduction of legislative material such as Acts of the legislature, do not constitute infringement of copyright.
Legislation is published so that people can read and follow it. Making it easier to read serves that purpose rather than undermining it.
Attribution
Every page that reproduces statutory text carries:
- the name of the Act and the consolidation date;
- the page number in the source PDF;
- a direct link to the official FBR file;
- a SHA-256 checksum of the file the pages were generated from.
What is not claimed
No claim of ownership is made over the text of the Customs Act 1969 or any other statute, ordinance, rule or notification. That material belongs to the Government of Pakistan and is reproduced unchanged.
What is original
The guides, explanatory commentary, page structure, navigation, design, metadata, and the software that converts official PDFs into these pages are original work by the publisher. If you quote from them, an attribution and a link is appreciated.
Not an official source
This site is not an official publication and must not be presented as one. For any purpose where the exact text matters, including filings, proceedings and professional advice, use the official FBR document. Where this site and that document differ, the official document governs.
Takedown and correction requests
If you believe material here infringes a right, or that reliance on section 57 is misplaced for a particular page, write to the address on the contact page with the specific URL and the basis of the claim. Requests are reviewed promptly and content is removed where the claim is well founded.
